Social Medicine Rounds focus on social and policy issues, especially as they affect our care of poor and underserved populations. Past rounds have addressed issues such as advocacy for immigrant health, The Afffordable Care Act, pay for performance (P4P) reimbursement, Massachusetts health reform, the ethics of physicians giving money to needy patients, ACO's, primary care-based harm-reduction efforts for narcotic addition, and single payer health reform, among other issues
