For some people, "living a good life" seems easy. But as we grow older, our brains change along with our bodies. We might not adapt to stress like we did when we were younger or just might not feel like ourselves anymore.

Adults come to us with the entire spectrum of mental health needs. These range from anger, anxiety and mild depression to things like psychosis, trauma, substance use or neurodevelopmental disorders.

Some patients are in crisis and need hospital care. Others may benefit from an ongoing relationship with a therapist. In all cases, we are here to respect you and help improve your life.

Caring for the Whole You
You are unique and have a history all your own. When we meet, we want to understand the real you – as a patient and as a person. Your mental health and medical needs are all important to keep you healthy and feeling well.

World Class Treatment, Where You Live
The CHA Department of Psychiatry is recognized as a leader in patient care, teaching and research. You will find outpatient services at our local care centers. Hospital services are available for people in acute emotional or behavioral crisis.

Please note: Due to high demand, CHA primary care patients are given top priority for office visits, followed by others who live in Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Revere, Somerville and Winthrop, MA. If you or your child do not meet these criteria, we may be able to help you find another mental health provider near you.
