Pregnancy and Maternity

Description of imageCHA Cambridge Hospital was named one of Newsweek’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2021!

Having a baby is one of life's most joyous events! We want you to have the birth experience that's right for you, so we offer many options.

Great News for Parents and Babies!

Cambridge Hospital has one of the lowest cesarean section rates in Massachusetts. A lower C-section rate means less pain after delivery, shorter recoveries and lower risks of infection. Babies benefit too! On the rare occasion when a cesarean section is needed, our experienced team of obstetricians are prepared to provide the best possible care.

  • Covid-19 Visitor Policies
    • All patients and support persons will be issued a mask to wear when they are in public hallways.
    • All patients and support person(s) must wear masks while any staff members are in their hospital room
    • No children, 18 years or under, are allowed in Labor and Delivery or the Maternity Unit. Please make sure to have childcare arrangements prior to coming on to the unit.
    • You can have up to two dedicated support persons at a time for your labor, delivery, and postpartum care in the hospital. One of these two dedicated support persons may be a private doula. Only one support person can stay overnight, however, after delivery.
    • Your support person(s) can come and go on the unit. They will be screened each time they enter the unit.
      • If your support person screens positive, they will not be able to be with you for the birth of your baby. (unless +contact is the patient herself)
      • If your support person becomes symptomatic while on the unit they will be asked to leave and to contact their personal primary care provider. They will not be allowed to return to the unit.

Thank you for choosing CHA for your delivery. Thank you for your understanding during these challenging times.
