Fellowship Overview
During the training year, Fellows divide their time in a variety of clinical settings including rotations with multidisciplinary staff in the Geriatric Psychiatry Inpatient Unit at Everett Hospital, Geriatric Service Outpatient Clinic, the CHA PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), nursing homes and home visitation programs. Faculty members include board-certified geriatric psychiatrists who are devoted to supervision and teaching during all rotations. In addition, the program offers a comprehensive didactic series covering topics related to significant aspects of geriatric care.
Primary training elements including evaluation and management of geriatric patients across the spectrum of care, development of consultation-liaison skills, development of leadership skills in the multidisciplinary delivery of mental health care and assessment, diagnosis and treatment of geriatric patients representing a wide variety of diagnostic presentations, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Our program takes advantage of CHA's unique blend of community and academic resources. Clinical fellows receive appointments to Harvard Medical School.
