Please get a flu shot this year

Each flu season is different, but this year it’s more important than ever to get a flu shot.

Each flu season is different, but this year it’s more important than ever to get a flu shot. Because of COVID-19, we need to reduce the risk of respiratory illness in our communities. Reduce your risk of being one of the millions of people the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) say get the flu every year. Getting vaccinated can keep you healthy and out of the hospital. It also protects others, like friends and family members, from getting sick.

Benefits of getting the flu shot:

  • Can keep you from getting the flu.
  • If you do get the flu, it can make your illness less severe.
  • Reduces your risk of being hospitalized (or dying) from flu-related illness.
  • Helps protect people around you from getting sick, especially people at higher risk -- like those with chronic disease, older adults, pregnant women and children.

How to get a flu shot at CHA:

  • If you have an in-person appointment at CHA, you can get a flu shot during your visit.
  • Visit one of CHA’s outpatient pharmacies for a walk-in flu shot.
  • Make an appointment for a flu shot at the CHA Assembly Square Care Center. Call your primary care provider to schedule this.
  • A drive-thru flu clinic will be available soon.

Look for more details in MyCHArt, on our website and through our social media. You can also get Flu shots at many pharmacies. Make sure to check with your insurance company before you go to ensure proper coverage.

Special requirement for children:
All children over 6 months must be vaccinated. CHA is hoping to receive more doses of the flu vaccine to help us meet this requirement.
