Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Homemade Donations
Members of the community have been reaching out about donating and creating homemade Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for our staff and providers.
Below is guidance:
- Please use cotton, such as cotton sheets.
- Create the mask using two layers of material and include a "pocket" on the inside where the mask touches the face so that we can insert a filter.
- While we know there are different patterns available for mask-making, here is one that CHA recommends.
- For more info on dimensions of cotton and alternatives to elastic ties, click here.
View details on how to create and purchase cheap (under $2) face shields. If you are able to make them or purchase them, CHA is glad to receive them
Bring the masks to any of Cambridge Health Alliance’s hospitals (Cambridge, Everett or Somerville Campuss) and drop them off at the main entrance with Public Safety. Please provide your name and contact info (email) so we can say thank you.
If you are unable to leave your home, we are happy to pick up the items or have them delivered. Please contact Julia Saggese (jsaggese@challiance.org). Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
