When you have pain or limited movement in your hand, arm or wrist, it is often hard to do everyday activities. The Hand and Wrist Surgery team at CHA can help.

Your Care at its Best

X-ray film of a hand, giving the A-Ok signWhether it's non-surgical management of carpal tunnel or advanced, microscopic repair of nerve injuries, our team helps you regain comfort and movement. We also work closely with our rehab team to make sure your follow-up care and recovery goes well. We're passionate about helping every patient get the best possible results.

Specialized care in your own community

Hand and wrist surgery require special skills and years of training. The CHA Hand and Wrist Surgery program offers the same expert care as a large, Boston hospital, but in a comfortable, community setting. We use the most advanced techniques, including arthroscopy, which uses a tiny camera to see inside your body. Arthroscopic surgery helps prevent tissue damage and scarring and can lead to a faster, more comfortable recovery.

A close partnership with our rehab team

After your surgery or other treatment, you may need an occupational therapist (OT) to help you rebuild your strength and coordination to perform daily tasks. Many patients choose to work with the CHA rehab team in Somerville. CHA Occupational Therapists meet regularly with Dr. Debra Mulley, our hand and wrist surgery team leader, to discuss patient needs. Of course, you can also do occupational or physical therapy with providers outside of CHA if you prefer. It's up to you.
