CHA Teams with Shaw’s to Provide Thanksgiving Meals to Families in Need
Posted Date: 12/2/2013
Somerville, Mass. - Cambridge Health Alliance patients benefited from a generous holiday donation by Shaw’s/Twin City Plaza, as the supermarket provided 30 full Thanksgiving meals for families in need. On Tuesday, November 26, CHA social workers and staff distributed the meals, which included a fully cooked turkey and all the fixings, to patients as well as the CHA food pantry and housing sites tied to CHA's Elder Service Plan. The donation was the result of funds raised through Shaw’s "Turkey Bucks" program, where cashiers ask customers to donate one dollar or more at the register.
