Stefanos Kales, MD, MPH, FACP, FACOEM - Medical Director
Our Chief of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Dr. Stefanos Kales, has published over 100 articles and has participated in research, advisory and teaching activities on five continents. He has a particular interest in the health of firefighters and other public safety professionals. His work includes research on the clinical epidemiology of cardiovascular events in firefighters and determining the causal relationship between heart disease and job activities. He currently serves as a Professor of Medicine and a Professor of Environmental Health at Harvard. Learn more.
Russell Tontz, MD - Associate Medical Director
Dr. Russell Tontz is a skilled physician who is board-certified in Occupational Medicine, Aerospace Medicine and Family Medicine. He comes to us from the Mayo Clinic, where he served as director/chair for Occupational Medicine and Employee Health in Minnesota for five years.
An Air Force Veteran, Dr. Tontz has specialized training in Bioterrorism Prevention and Response and FEMA response. His extensive field and tactical knowledge includes 15 years experience caring for Fire and Law Enforcement and managing complex return to work and WC injuries. He is currently on the faculty at Harvard Medical School and brings a unique perspective to our team.
